Car Mode / Mobile Mode

ClarionMiND comes with a Car Mode for use in Standard Cradle or Car Dock, and a Mobile Mode that is used when you are carrying the ClarionMiND with you. These two modes give you maximum utilization of navigation in a variety of situations.

To start the Car Mode, ClarionMiND must be placed in the provided cradle or the separately sold Car Dock.

Once in place, ClarionMiND automatically starts up navigation and switches to the Car Mode.

Touching the map section of the Car Mode split screen (Home screen) expands the map section to fill the entire screen. The other applications displayed in Car Mode are also displayed in full screen.

In-Car docking station makes driving more pleasurable.

Connecting ClarionMiND to the separately sold Car Dock allows you to enjoy more pleasurable driving by reducing vibration, linking with the vehicle and using traffic information, and taking advantage of other options.

Acquire the latest traffic information.

When installed in the Car Dock, traffic information can be received free of charge to keep you abreast of traffic conditions. This expands the navigation function to let you display the information, set congestion avoidance routes and use other functions.

The Car Dock comes with a lifetime subscription to RDS-TMC. Buying Car Dock allows you to use a fee-based information service (RDS-TMC) free of charge, so it is a good deal.

Audio output from car speakers.

In the regular Mobile mode the ClarionMiND uses its built-in speakers or earphone to output audio, but when installed in your vehicle the audio is output via the vehicle’s speakers.

Switching the navigation screen to the nighttime screen.

ClarionMiND automatically switches the map to the nighttime screen when the vehicle’s parking lights are turned on.

Supplying power and charging.

ClarionMiND is powered and charged when connected to the vehicle’s ACC.
